Medium Density Living at Hinaki Development Highlighted

The promise of medium-density housing in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is becoming a reality, as highlighted through Brewer Davidson’s and Simplicity Living’s recently opened Hinaki development, in a Stuff article!

The stuff article focuses on the experience of one resident of the Hinaki development, who through our medium density developments, was able to put a deposit on his first affordable home in Auckland, and how he has adapted to medium-density living and its sense of community.

We are excited to see images of our Hinaki development in use, showing shared amenities such as a bike shed for residents and shared gardens!

ARC Selwyn Street Promotional Video

Our Greenstar Designed Build-to-Rent Development in Selwyn Street, Onehunga has been showcased in a promotional video, produced by ARC. The video shows not only the architectural details of the 48-unit development, designed by BDA, but also highlights their system of management, as a long term build-to-rent programme.

We are looking forward to seeing how this build to rent programme combined with good-quality, sustainable design could change the face of housing in Auckland!

Brewer Davidson Designs highlighted in Launch of Simplicity Living’s Major Build to Rent Housing Programme

Brewer Davidson is excited for our designs to be showcased in a recently published press release for Simplicity Living. NZ Living and Simplicity announced they are combining to form Simplicity Living, a significant build to rent housing programme in New Zealand.

The long-term vision for Simplicity Living is to build high quality, affordable homes for rent across the country. Shane Brealey, Managing Director NZ Living, saying ‘Simplicity shares our long-term vision. With our skill in building and managing, and their ability to fund at scale, we are well-placed to make a positive difference in the housing sector.’

Both projects illustrated in this press release are Brewer Davidson designs; one being NZ Living’s Kupenga Development in Point England and the other, the recently completed ARC Selwyn Street Development in Onehunga.

Combined, these projects represent 159 apartments in the build to rent programme.

In a previous blog post, our ARC Selwyn Street Development was highlighted as one of New Zealand's first build-to-rent developments.

Selwyn Street Media Buzz

We are excited for our upcoming project, Selwyn Street Apartments, which has just featured in the recent article below. The apartments are one of the first developments in New Zealand specifically designed to be ‘Build to Rent’ (BTR).

Kent Gardner, a private equity property investor, has a vision to build residential units with long term tenancy in mind. The Selwyn Street apartments are the first of his BTR projects which he hopes will act as a catalyst for more BTR developments around New Zealand. Long term tenancies are commonplace overseas and shift the way tenants view their homes.

The 48 Selwyn Street apartments are high quality, 1 and 2 bedroom units, in a 3-storey walk-up design focused on creating a community on the 3,240sm2 site. The development is situated near public transport, public amenities and Onehunga’s bustling retail hub. We are looking forward to this project being completed in mid-August.

MERI KIRIHIMETE FROM THE BREWER DAVIDSON TEAM

Have a safe and happy holidays. We will be out of the office from the 22nd of December to the 11th of January

Plumbing World Flagship Store Opening

Last week Brewer Davidson was proud to attend the ribbon cutting of the new Plumbing World flagship store and trade center.

The warm summer evening was perfect way to showcase their new premises and permeant home for years to come.

Located along New North Road the showroom is elevated to the first floor to allow for best frontage to the street. The staff offices act as the intermediary between the public showroom and the trade warehouse behind.

Pakuranga College Metal Work

The bespoke balustrade design for Pakuranga College has been a great chance to work closely with a steel fabricator. This modular system will wrap the building in a ribbon of undulating steel in the school colours. We can't wait to see it completed!
