Te Kauwhata Structure Plan

The original commission was to look at District Plan rules to control rural residential growth that was wasting productive land. This evolved through workshops and consultation to a new Structure Plan to encourage growth as a satellite town between Hamilton and Auckland, and to take advantage of future rail commuter services. The work was completed in 2007 as the GFC hit but given the rapid changes in Pokeno, Te Kauwhata is ready to cope with the inevitable growth.
